Pray for LIFE 2010

Here’s an update from Ellen Strait, a member of the LIFE 2010 prayer team:

Many things are going on today to finish preparing for the kids to arrive.  Please pray that things will be done by 1pm today.  We are told that things are on schedule but there is still a lot to be done.  We can praise God for all he is doing in getting this ready.  We have heard testimony after testimony from food prep to the technicians who are getting the sound and lights ready that things are going along smoothly.  We are praying that Satan will not be permitted to be around, please pray continually for this because there are so many opportunities for him to destroy the things being done for these kids.  However, we are also trusting that even in this, we know God is in control and no matter what happens He has already got things prepared for those who are keeping their eyes on Him.

Please pray for His grace for patience and unity as the workers are getting down to the wire and bodies are getting tired.  Pray that the Spirit that is filling this place will be allowed to continue to fill this place and that as the kids arrive they will begin to feel a difference even before they hear a speaker.  Many are coming who have not met Jesus, help those who know Jesus whether young or older introduce them to Him by their actions, speech and caring.

My expectations are that God CAN and WILL work in a powerful way with these young people if the praying people continue to lift this conference before Him.

By the way, there are many missionaries (internation workers) who are here and the plans are to make it available for the youth to interact with them while they are here.

I hope you can feel the excitement that is building and we can pray that it will continue with the kids for years to come.

The elders of PCC have been praying and dreaming about the part that God would have us play in reaching the Capital District.  We’ve got some ideas and we’d love to hear yours!

Join us for Kickoff Sunday

Join us on Kickoff Sunday at our new service time of 10:30!

Many of our ministries which have been on a summer break are back in full swing, including Crossroads (formerly known as ESL), Ignite Ministries (our youth program) and our new Kids Church featuring the fantastic curriculum “All Stars For Jesus”.  There’s something for the whole family on Sunday morning.

Engaging music and worship along with passionate prayer and preaching will help you to encounter the God of the universe who loves you more than anything!

To top it off, there will be a church wide picnic following the service.  Come and enjoy the fun and games and meet some new people.  You will be glad you did!

Updates from the Youth Mexico Missions Trip

Update August 14/09:  The youth missions team has return home from Matamoros, Mexico and has experienced real transformation.  Here’s a sample of what was happening.  Pastor Ken is giving the report in this video clip.

Time:  10:00 am until dusk (come when you can, leave when you must!)

What To Bring:

• lawn chairs
• lawn games and/or sports equipment (especially bats, balls and gloves)
• table games
• a picnic or BBQ lunch and beverages
• Sneakers / Hiking Boots (if you are so inclined)
• Sunblock
